A Little History.
Hamilton Southeastern High School has a comprehensive band program including five daily academic classes of Concert Band along with various extracurricular ensembles including Marching Band (Royal Command & Guard), Pep Band, Jazz Band, Winter Guard, and Winter Percussion.

Audrey Torres
Director of Bands
Audrey Torres currently serves as the Director of Bands and Performing Arts
Department Chair at Hamilton Southeastern High School in Fishers, IN. During her tenure at
HSE, she has had the honor of conducting our program’s four concert bands and a plethora of
extracurricular ensembles. Audrey conducts our top band, the Wind Ensemble, which qualified
for ISSMA State Finals in 2017, 2018, 2023 in which they placed 5th in the state, and 2024. Her
bands have consistently received Gold ratings at ISSMA Concert and Sight-Reading Contest.
She also serves as the Director of the Royal Command & Guard Marching Band and has been
instrumental in bringing the band back to ISSMA and BOA. The Royal Command & Guard
qualified as a BOA Regional Finalist in 2022 for the first time in school history, and subsequently
qualified as a BOA Regional Finalist in 2023 as well. The band has consistently qualified for
ISSMA Semi-State in Class A in Indiana. Under her leadership, the band program has also
provided incredible musical experiences for students, and has promoted success and growth in
our Color Guard/Winter Guard program, Indoor Percussion program, Jazz Ensemble, Solo &
Ensemble events, Symphony Orchestra, Pep Band, and Pit Orchestra for our department’s
Spring Musical. In addition, our program has had students audition into the prestigious All-State
Band, All-State Orchestra, and students that have auditioned into the Jacobs School of Music at
Indiana University.
Audrey Torres’s previous positions have included Director of Bands at Franklin Central
High School in Indianapolis, IN; Director of Bands at Pendleton Heights Middle School in
Pendleton, IN; Associate Director of Bands at Guyer High School in Denton, TX; and Associate
Director of Bands at Ft. Zumwalt North High School in O’Fallon, MO. Audrey is a proud
graduate of The University of Missouri, where she studied horn with Dr. Marcia Spence,
conducting with Dr. Gary Schallert and Dr. Tom O’Neal, and was Drum Major of Marching
Mizzou for three years.
During her tenure with the Franklin Central High School Band Program, the band
exclusively received ISSMA gold ratings with the Wind Ensemble, Marching Band, and Jazz
Ensemble under the direction of Audrey Torres. The Wind Ensemble was very honored to
perform at the 2016 Music for All National Concert Band Festival in Indianapolis, IN. The Wind
Ensemble was selected out of many groups from around the country that auditioned. The
Franklin Central Marching Band qualified for the 2011 ISSMA Class A State Finals for the first
time in school history and was a frequent participant in Bands of America events. The Indoor
Percussion Program and Winter Guard also achieved tremendous success, medaling at both
the state and national levels.
Audrey is a member of the Indiana Bandmasters Association, National Education
Association, and a former staff member of the George N. Parks Drum Major Academy. Audrey
currently resides in Indianapolis, IN with her husband Josh, Percussion Director at Center Grove
High School, and their two sons, Cameron and Alden.
Tyler Davis
Associate Director of Bands
Tyler Davis joined our Hamilton Southeastern High School music education team as our Associate Director of Bands in 2024. Tyler is originally from the suburbs of Chicago. His primary instrument is the French horn. He received his Bachelor of Music Education from Western Illinois University (WIU) in 2017. While at Western Illinois, Tyler was Drum Major of the WIU Marching Leatherbacks.
He moved to Indiana in 2018 and started teaching music in different levels & various settings. Since joining the Hamilton Southeastern school district, he has spent the past several years as a junior high Band Director, first at Fishers Junior High and then at Hamilton Southeastern Intermediate/Junior High (HIHJ). He resides in Indianapolis with his wife, daughter, & dog.
Outside of work, Tyler enjoys frequenting local coffee shops and Formula 1 Racing.
Javier Ramirez
Percussion Director
Javier graduated from Perry Meridian High School where he was active in their various percussion ensembles.
While attending the University of Indianapolis, he began to work with several high school percussion sections including Tri-West, Plainfield, Beech Grove, Southport, Perry Meridian and Franklin Central.
As a performer, Javier marched tenors at Pioneer Drum and Bugle Corps in 2012 and Legacy Indoor Percussion from 2014-2016. He also had the opportunity to teach at Pioneer in 2018 and Legacy Indoor (later Veritas) from 2018-2022.
Javier is a current performing member of High Octane Entertainment which includes being part of the official drumline for the Indiana Pacers, Indiana Fever, and Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
He also performs with the Indianapolis Colts Drumline. Javier is active in percussion arrangement and composition, having written and consulted for many Indiana high school percussion programs over the years.
Additionally, Javier currently serves as Secretary of the Indiana Percussion Association Board of Directors.
David Crook
Guard Director
David Crook has a long-standing career in the performing arts working with color guards, winter guards, & marching ensembles at all levels of performance & competition.
Prior to his professional career in the performing arts industry, David was a performing member of Onyx competitive color guard. Throughout his career, he has established himself as a Choreographer, Designer, Dance Instructor, Consultant, & Visual Coordinator.
Before coming to Hamilton Southeastern High School, David worked with various high school programs including Mason High School (Ohio) winter guard, Ben Davis High School color guard & marching band, Lawrence Central High School color guard & marching band, Warren Central High School winter guard, & Eastern High School (Kentucky). Additionally, he has worked with various drum corps including Spirit of Atlanta, Madison Scouts, Boston Crusaders, & Pacific Crest. And, spent select winter guard seasons working with Onyx, Juxtaposition, & Pride of the Netherlands.
Outside of his dedication & involvement in these various performing arts programs, David has an established career working in fitness management & instructor for group fitness.
